Platelet rich plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP, is a popular cosmetic injectable treatment. This is due to its ability to naturally rejuvenate the skin, repair the signs of ageing and restore hair growth. By using our own platelet rich blood cells.

PRP is a form of cosmetic injectable treatment that uses the client’s own platelet rich plasma. The plasma component contains stem cells and growth rich platelets. When injected back into the skin, it accelerates the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin to provide overall skin rejuvenation.

Firstly, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the area that will be treated. Secondly, our clinician will draw a small sample of blood. This is then spun in a centrifuge for approximately five minutes to separate the plasma from the other blood particles. Lastly, the platelet rich plasma is then reinjected or microneedled back into the treatment area, stimulating collagen and elastin production.

PRP has a number of benefits. The treatment can improve skin texture and tone, reduce fine lines, scarring, combat stretch marks and stimulate collagen and skin cell production for a plumper, more radiant complexion.

If you feel like your skin is lacking elasticity or taughtness and want to achieve that ‘glow’ then PRP is for you. Our most popular PRP treatment is the PRP facial more commonly known as the vampire facial made popular by celebrities such as the Kardashians and Angelia Jolie. A PRP facial commonly known as a vampire facial works in two ways. First, microneedling creates tiny pinpricks in your skin, triggering a wound-healing response that stimulates your skin’s natural collagen and elastin production. Then, to further boost skin cell regeneration, the growth-factor-packed PRP penetrates the skin through the microchannels created via microneedling.

 Benefits of a Vampire Facial

  • Increases collagen production
  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Firmer, tighter skin
  • Improves moisture retention
  • Enhances skin tone and texture
  • Improves elasticity
  • Improve acne scars

PRP for hair restoration is a three-step treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp.

PRP injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft.

PRP when used for hair restoration can be used alongside other treatments for hair loss such as hair transplants to produce an overall improvement to hair density and strength. It is used as a treatment for lost hair, as well as a preventative treatment for future hair loss.

In most cases of hair restoration a course of treatments is required, this can be discussed with our leading practitioner upon consultation.

PRP injections are a more natural alternative to dermal filler injections.  We draw your very own platelet rich plasma and inject it where you need some extra volume, stimulating collagen production and elastin. PRP can also be used as a skin booster to combat dull tired looking skin as well as smoothing fine lines.

Areas for injection include:

  • Face
  • Marionette lines
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Neck
  • Decolletage
  • Hands
  • Undereye

Microneedling with PRP is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates collagen production by moving fine needles over the skin and applying platelets, which are one of the components of blood. You may consider having microneedling with PRP if you want to treat certain marks or blemishes on the body or face for cosmetic reasons.

Microneedling with PRP can treat:

  • acne scars
  • surgical scars
  • wrinkles and fine lines
  • hyperpigmentation
  • sun damage
  • large pores
  • uneven skin texture
  • stretch marks

The addition of PRP to microneedling speeds up the healing process and stimulates skin renewal, producing better results than microneedling alone.
